Kano Area Office

Building Skills. Enhancing Productivity. Driving National Development.
Established by Decree 47 of 1971 (as amended in 2011), the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) is a Grade "A" Parastatal operating under the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment. For over 50 years, we have been Nigeria's leading agency dedicated to promoting, encouraging, and accelerating the acquisition of vital industrial and commercial skills required for economic development.
From Kano Area Office, we actively coordinate with Industries, Institutions, and Community Stakeholders to deliver custom skills acquisition initiatives that prepare candidates for active workforce roles.
Nurturing and building a robust pool of skilled, national talent to successfully manage all major sectors of the economy.
Formulating, monitoring, and certifying vocational, technical, and entrepreneurial training frameworks nationwide.
Evaluating external capacities, providing direct educational resources, and aligning firms with optimal development tracks.
Conducting and supporting research into modern industrial training methodologies to raise administrative productivity.
Specialized training programs managed by the Kano Area Office.
ITF Kano drives productivity through structured frameworks that support hands-on skills acquisition, manage academic industrial placements, and financially incentivize human resource development in the corporate sector.

The Skill-Up Artisans (SUPA) program is a strategic intervention designed to empower artisans with tech-driven training, official licensing, access to essential toolkits, and promotion of high industry standards.
By registering on the SUPA platform, skilled workers across construction, automotive, hospitality, and energy sectors gain access to certification pathways that elevate professional standards and advance career development.
The Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) is a key program bridging classroom instruction with hands-on industrial practice.
Kano Area Office coordinates placements and supervises hundreds of students annually across engineering, science, and technology disciplines in leading regional industrial establishments.
Our training interventions change lives and build sustainable futures. This featured highlight presents a documentary on vocational and technical capacity-building initiatives implemented across the region.
